Making Cancer Prevention Part Of Everyday Care | 5-6 March 2026 Reykjavík, Iceland
8.0 Joint action EUnetCCC 8.2.2 Personalized Cancer Prevention Reykjavík, Iceland onsite
5 - 6 March 2026 - ended
On 5–6 March 2026, EUnetCCC WP8 Task 8.2.2 (Personalised Primary & Secondary Prevention) will reach an important internal milestone through a dedicated teaming and knowledge-exchange meeting hosted at Landspítali University Hospital in Reykjavík.
This visit focuses on a simple but essential question: how does personalised cancer prevention actually work inside real healthcare systems?
Hosted in Iceland, the meeting will bring together participating centres and prevention experts to examine how national policy, hospital-level prevention, genetics and population-based screening intersect in daily clinical practice.
The work will move deliberately from framework to implementation, with experts:
• Exploring how personalised prevention is organised in Iceland
• Applying the Cancer Prevention Hub model and the Transferability Protocol to different health system contexts
• Working in risk-factor-focused teams to develop concrete, implementable cancer prevention actions
The workshop is designed to generate practical outputs that support scaling personalised prevention across Comprehensive Cancer Centres in Europe.
By comparing real hospital and national prevention systems and working collaboratively rather than in isolation, Personalised Primary & Secondary Prevention continues its transition from conceptual design to operational, transferable Cancer Prevention Hubs.
