European collaboration to strengthen cancer care networks – EUnetCCC meeting in Cluj-Napoca
January 21, 2026
This week, The Oncology Institute “Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuță” in Cluj-Napoca, proudly hosted a working session within the EUnetCCC Joint Action, focused on building and advancing the European network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres.
Experts from several European institutions came together to review the progress of the Romanian national pilot and to discuss practical ways to better connect research, innovation and clinical care – always with one clear purpose: improving the experience and outcomes of cancer patients.
Our shared goal
To ensure that every patient has access to high-quality, evidence-based oncology care, delivered through coordinated multidisciplinary teams and supported by the latest innovations.
Through open dialogue and exchange of expertise, this collaboration helps to create:
• more efficient and patient-friendly care pathways
• better integrated diagnosis and treatment
• reduced inequalities in access to cancer services across Europe
We are honored to contribute from Cluj-Napoca to a strong European network that truly puts patients at the heart of the healthcare system.
Thank you to all partners for the constructive discussions and shared commitment.
