Voices from the patient community

Patient voices are at the heart of EUnetCCC Task 8.2.7 Cancer Survivorship, which brings together 163 experts from 29 European countries to strengthen survivorship care across Comprehensive Cancer Centres.

Within EUnetCCC, survivorship begins at diagnosis and continues throughout the entire cancer journey. The task is developing practical tools, minimum standards and a European Survivorship Hub model to help ensure every person living with and beyond cancer can access the right support at the right time.

In this video, Andreea Breaz, patient representative at the Oncology Institute "Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuță" (Romania), and Miguel Reis, cancer survivor and member of the Patient Advisory Council at IPO Porto (Portugal), share why patients must be active partners in shaping cancer care, what helps them feel heard and the kind of support that matters most beyond treatment.

By bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers and patient representatives, EUnetCCC is helping build a more coordinated, person-centred approach to survivorship care across Europe.
